If you decide to buy the game via Steam, you can rest assured that all upcoming contents will be available for you, same as the players of Uplay and Epic Games Store. Visible pop in textures as he scrolls across his islands. It’s worth noting that Anno 1800 has been available on Steam for a while and Ubisoft confirmed players will still be able to pre-order the game from Steam until the day of release. The one negative i have from seeing Raptor's gameplay of the game is that hours later when his islands are built up and the ai and himself have built, the game gets visibly laggy. The only way that can happen is if they start cutting swaths of content from the beta game with the justification that "beta gameplay is not representative of the final product and is subject to change". There isnt any way the game will be worse than what we have seen. The content we havent seen yet will only make the game better. This game doesnt have limited build space, creativity isnt gimped by multiplayer specific balancing issues, its pathfinding is clean and you wont see traffic jams of trade ships. But the problems which sunk it after more hours of play arent in this one. If there were 20hr playthroughs we would have seen the problems. Simcity did look amazing after 30min gameplay vids released. But i see where your argument is coming from. If they sold the build of the game that was available for beta it would be considered feature rich and a good enough game on its own. An amazingly huge chuck of the game is clearly visible and the missing content not yet released only makes the game better. Some of the lets plays actually do get to near 20hrs. Cause simCity was ok for 3-4 hours then everything stopped working Originally posted by SimpleSiren:So they were 20 hours into their city when you were watching these demos. But it will take a LONG time at last the next 5-10 years both plattforms will fight against each another for the global digital game market. However who will in the end win is unknown. We will see in the next years some fights between them like sales on so on to keep the players at each plattform. Steam wont stand idly to watch that happend. Steam will definitly have a problem if they do that.Īs far as it now seem Epic Games will keep growing and will eat more and more of the market as it doing it right now. However the new plattform has a lot of issue at the moment that can be easly fix like a communication forum, mod support and so on. If this new plattform keep growing as it doing it now people will move away from steam and form a new "core"playerbase at Epic launcher which is very very bad for steam because they dont come back anymore (and only buy keps that are working in the epic store). I apologies for my erronesous english writting here but i just want to pointed out some interesting fact that steam has a lot of issue at the moment that dev just run off with there games to epic store and how steam try to counter them. We will see if Anno 1800 got simlar deal when the game will come out and it will be on the Normaly the main page is exclusive for big companys that have a huge income for steam like Civ 6 Addon or a big publisher sale strangly i saw some weeks ago the new Subnautica title on the mainpage. In that case steam won the fight and got the title exklusive until it is released and they got as a INDIE dev team a week free adversitment on the main page of steam. You WILL get better condition after that move or you will go compley over to epic games and have a lot of new players want to buy you "new" game. Move the "old" game to epic store and offer it for FREE for a week and show that steam and say you have a second game now in work. make a better offer and you will get the next game we are making.įor example the game Subnautica is a good example how it can be done. If there would move all there games over to epic store it will decrease the pressure on steam and they would lose a bagging chip against steam. However this "movement" to EPIC Store is a wake up call for steam because companys move part of the games to the another store to increase pressure on steam to make better conditions. Very unlikely also because they have already open up "pre-order" it would take a lot of doing to refund all of them and steam wont take that easly.
